Hull Repairs

Fibreglass work
that lasts

From osmosis treatment to collision damage repair — I work with fibreglass properly. No filler over filler, no shortcuts that come back in two seasons.

Osmosis Treatment

The right way to treat osmosis

Osmotic blistering in GRP hulls is common and well-understood. What varies is how it's treated — properly, with the hull dried for long enough and the barrier coat applied in the right conditions, or quickly, in a way that looks fine for a season and blisters again. I only do it the first way. It may take longer to schedule. It's worth it.

  • Hull survey and assessment
  • Blister peeling and preparation
  • Extended drying period (I won't rush it)
  • Epoxy barrier coat application
  • Antifouling to finish
Structural Repairs

Damage repaired properly

Collision damage, delamination, keel sump cracks — repaired to original laminate schedule, not filled over. Work is vacuum bagged where appropriate. No shortcuts that come back in two seasons and cost more to fix than the original repair.

  • Impact and collision damage
  • Keel sump and floor repairs
  • Delamination treatment
  • Through-hull and seacock repair or replacement
  • Rudder repairs and bearing replacement

Topsides

Two-Part Paint

Awlgrip and International Perfection applied for a hardwearing gloss finish that lasts years.
